The European Commission has published its proposals for the follow up to its CHIPS Act to address some key gaps. The first Act was criticised for its lack of impact assessments and clearly defined targets.
The new Act introduces ‘grand challenges’ and expands the range of pilot lines as well as pushing for a leading edge fab to produce AI chips in the region.
