The enterprise market is beginning to kick in, SambaNova CEO tells EE Times.

AI chipmaker SambaNova could raise between US$800 million and US$1 billion in a new funding round, according to its executive chairman and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. This would raise SambaNova's value to US$10 billion as increasing inferential AI workloads spur a search for alternatives to Nvidia's expensive GPUs.

SambaNova used a Computex 2026 session on June 4 to make its most public case yet that the GPU-only approach to AI inference is hitting a fundamental wall — and to demonstrate, live on stage, an alternative architecture it calls disaggregated inference running in a production data center.
