AI chipmaker SambaNova could raise between US$800 million and US$1 billion in a new funding round, according to its executive chairman and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. This would raise SambaNova's value to US$10 billion as increasing inferential AI workloads spur a search for alternatives to Nvidia's expensive GPUs.

Dutch semiconductor metrology specialist Nearfield Instruments has secured US$380 million in Series D funding, marking the largest fundraising round ever completed by a deep-tech company in the Netherlands.

Samsung Electronics and SK hynix participated in an investment round for artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic. Anthropic said on May 28 that it raised $65 billion in its Series H funding round. Following the investment, the company's valuation reached $965 billion. The funding round also included participation from three major memory suppliers: Samsung Electronics, SK hynix and Micron.
