Technically, this voltage class bridges 800V EV fast charging and industrial motor drives, pressuring SiC in cost-sensitive segments while forcing PCB and packaging materials toward high-frequency, low-loss specs. Regulatory shifts like EU energy efficiency mandates are turning GaN from optional to essential, yet supply chain risks loom due to yield constraints in GaN epitaxy from foundries in Taiwan, China and Southeast Asia.
